Unlike Window or System AC’s that requires a permanent window or duct installation, portable air conditioners offer a compact, efficient and mobile alternative. Portable AC’s are rated with Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) which can range from 7,500 BTU units for 250 sq. ft rooms all the up to 14,000 BTU units which can accommodate a 500 sq. ft area. Since these units are a fairly new technology, they are relatively more energy efficient when compared to some of the traditional permanent AC equipment. Portable AC’s are most ideal for apartments, offices and dorms where Window installations are unacceptable
